An incredible treasure was discovered by officials in a house in the Swiss town of Morez. The siblings were hiding gold bars and coins worth 17 million crowns. They were living quite modestly themselves.

The siblings, who had no offspring themselves, lived in the three-storey house. When the last of them died, one of the relatives inherited the property. He offered the house for sale. The local council was interested and wanted to renovate the property.

The heir didn't do much research into what was inside the house. He just wanted to sell it as he got it. When the town hall took possession of the property and the officials came inside, they couldn't help but wonder. They discovered a real treasure.

The siblings hardly threw anything away. The house was completely filled with furniture and other things. The mayor of Morez informed about it. "The house was literally stuffed with things and furniture. I myself knew several generations of the family that lived there. Nothing was thrown away and they lived modestly. I agreed that the property would be purchased by the city as the family had preserved it and we would clean it out at our own expense," said Mayor Laurent Petit.

But officials who came to look at the house were not surprised. Inside, they discovered five gold bars and hundreds of gold coins. According to experts, it is a treasure worth about 14 million crowns. The coins were in jam jars. But that's not all. In the cupboard under the cardboard boxes was a safe in which more gold coins worth about three million crowns were hidden.

In total, there was a treasure trove of approximately seventeen million crowns in the house. "None of us who went into the house had ever held gold in our hands. What we discovered was surprising and confusing at the same time. Three jars full of gold were just lying on the shelf," the mayor recalled.

The heir had once heard that his family might have some rare items at home. But he thought his relatives had sold everything. But he did not argue with the town about the treasure he had discovered. City Hall planned to use the treasure for a new project, but didn't reveal any details.

To se lehce vzdal dost velkýho dědictví...

Tak pokud byl z rodiny. Stejná povaha. Určitě má doma taky nějaké plné sklenice a cihly. Tak proč se dohadovat. Obzvlášť, když už to ta radnice má naplánováno. :-D
