September has flown by and in anticipation of the election we can choose our best finds for the final. There's definitely a lot to choose from, plus I feel like some of the really nice stuff has kind of escaped the majority's attention.
This month we will be competing for the last two Minelab X-Terra 505 metal detectors. One will go to the lucky winner who suggests their top 5 in the discussion here, and the other to the winner of the most beautiful find of September.
Qualifying ends Monday morning, October 6, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

Incredible find of a beautiful Bronze Age depot, story, collaboration with archaeologists. Definitely my number one this month.

Roman denarius of Traianus' adoptive father, Marcus Cocceius Nerva is just a treat.

Two buckles in one hole is interesting for Elmar, too. Nice find even though I don't do second war.

This is definitely an unusual find and we certainly don't have a handful of potins around here. Shame about the condition and also maybe the photos could have been a hair better.

And one more denarius. This time it's Marcus Aurelius, one of the most important emperors ever and I'm really sorry he didn't move the Roman Empire's border to the Elbe as he planned. What would Prague have been called...?
