Celestron StarSense Explorer is the first handheld telescope that uses your smartphone to analyse the night sky and calculate your position in real time. Getting started with stargazing and locating objects in the sky like a pro has never been easier, faster or more accurate.

Celestron's companion StarSense Explorer app eliminates the technical hurdles of using a telescope and allows anyone to locate stars, planets or nebulae using just a smartphone. Without investing in an expensive motorized computerized telescope. Simply load the free StarSense Explorer app onto your smartphone, place it in the unique holder supplied with theaffordable and award-winning StarSense Explorer telescope, and your smartphone turns into a high-end celestial object finder and night sky guide. GPS is all you need to use the app, no mobile carrier signal required!

Thanks to the StarSense Explorer app's unique patented star-search technology, which uses your phone's GPS navigation and the "Lost in Space" algorithm to find stars. (LISA) algorithm, which is used for example for large satellites, it generates a list of currently visible celestial objects and offers you observations of planets, nebulae, star clusters or galaxies. StarSense Explorer works with most modern smartphones, including the iPhone 6 and later and most devices running Android 7.1.2 or later as of 2016. You can easily verify compatibility by downloading the free app to your phone and if you open it, your device is compatible. It is advisable to download the app before purchasing the telescope, however, it is not functional without the StarSense Explorer telescope.

The ultra-stable alt-azimuth mount provides a sturdy base for the StarSense Explorer DX. Slip clutches and slow-motion controls in both axes help you move the telescope smoothly to find your desired target. As objects move through the night sky, you'll be able to track them with just a turn of the knobs.

With a 102mm aperture, this refractor can hold far more light than the basic LT70 model. Celestron's XLT optical coatings improve light transmission, and you can enjoy a crisp, clear view of Galileo's four moonsJupiter, its cloud belts and the Great Red Spot, the rings of Saturn, the trapezoid in the Orion Nebula, the beautiful Pleiades star cluster and other objects. The telescope can also be used without a smartphone, and thanks to the included inverting prism, you can also view terrestrial objects in the daytime.

StarSense Explorer is ideal for beginners thanks to the app's user-friendly interface and detailed tutorials. It's like having your own personal guide to the night sky.
