Celestron X-Cel LX 7mm 60° (1.25″) - premium eyepiece for detailed observation

The X-Cel LX series eyepieces from the renowned Celestron brand are designed with quality, comfort and image sharpness in mind. The 7mm model is the ideal choice for observing the planets, the moon or other objects that require higher magnification and superior detail resolution.

Key Features:

  • Focal length: 7 mm - suitable for detailed observation with higher magnification.

  • Field of view: 60° wide - provides an immersive image without the "tunnel" effect.

  • 1.25″clamping diameter - compatible with most common astronomical telescopes.

  • Large eye relief (16 mm) - comfortable viewing even with glasses.

  • Multiple anti-reflective layers (fully multi-coated) - ensure maximum light transmission and sharp, high-contrast images.

  • Foldable eyepiece - for comfortable fitting of the eye, adjustable for viewing with glasses.

  • Robust metal body with rubberized surface - durable and pleasant to the touch, with a good grip even with gloves.

Recommendations for use:

The 7 mm eyepiece is ideal for:

  • Refractors (e.g. 90/900, 102/660, 100/1000) - will offer high magnification for viewing details on the Moon and planets.

  • Newtonian telescopes (e.g. 130/650, 150/750, 200/1000) - excellent for viewing Jupiter's belts, Saturn's rings or lunar craters.

  • Catadioptric systems (e.g. Celestron C6, C8) - allow you to use their high focal lengths for extremely detailed views.

Note: Good seeing conditions (calm atmosphere) are needed at higher magnifications, otherwise the image may be out of focus.

Comparison with other X-Cel LX series focal lengths:

  • 9 mm - slightly lower magnification, more suitable for general views of the Moon or larger objects.

  • 5 mm - extremely high magnification, suitable only in very calm atmospheres and for short observations.

  • 25 mm or more - ideal for wide-angle views of star clusters and nebulae, but lower magnification.
