The Equinox 800 and 600 metal detectors are the world's best-selling all-in-one metal detectors and have been for several years. All of the proven breakthrough Multi IQ technologies were used in the design of its successor, the Equinox 900/700, and further work was done to take the 800/600 a hundred steps further.
As a result, the Equinox 700 boasts impressive evaluation as well as an increase in sensitivity to the most difficult to detect targets. There have been improvements in its separation properties and the detector now has a sharper audio response. There is also a new "Deept" depth mode with VCO, which the detector shares with the higher-end Manticore range.

Along with further performance improvements, the design has been redesigned. The detector now uses the same telescopic carbon fiber guide rod as the Minelab Manticore. This makes the device both more compact and lighter. The Equinox 700 is waterproof to 5 meters. Minelab has also added features such as a flashlight and vibration.

Ferrous objects are indicated by negative values, while non-ferrous objects appear in the positive range.
