Nerad vám to kazím, ale kontaktoval sem zde na LP uvedené muzeum (uvedené ve starším vkladu) a po obsáhlé komunikaci sem se dozvěděl, že růže tudorovská je, ale s Tivertonem nemá ani neměla nic společného.

nekazíš už před lety jsem s ředitelkou Pippa vedl komunikaci a mluvil s ní osobně.Kdysi jsem tu i psal článek ale ten už je pryč tak jen ve zkratce.

Hi Peter.Your photos show a four-disc cloth seal of Peter du Bois. The trees on disc 2 of the seal are a rebus for French 'bois'. On disc 3 there is a crowned rose with angel supporters. There is a description and photo of a similar seal, one of many found in Poland, on page 270 in “Cloth Seals, an illustrated reference guide to the identification of lead seals attached to cloth” by Stuart Elton (published 2017).
Peter du Bois was an 'alien' merchant in London who had dealings with Tiverton merchant George Hartnoll. In the 1620s Hartnoll bought serge in Exeter market for finishing in Tiverton before dispatch to London.
We are interested in seeing the photos but as it is not directly a Tiverton seal, we are not compiling a list here.

Thanks for sending this information through. I don’t think that this is a Tiverton seal – I don’t know of any that had a Tudor Rose on them. I don’t know why the website says that the museum is collecting find spots for these seals; I am afraid we aren’t!

A toto byl výsledek mé snahy.
Možná by bylo vhodné, chybnou část příspěvku opravit.

Není třeba... těch lidí co to tady zajímá je cca 0,0001%. Neleskne se to, není na tom hákový kříž a zlaté to taky není A ten kdo chce ten si to vypátrá
