Already at the beginning of March, the winter had definitely left us and thanks to that we were searching like hell. We will see what all will fall out of the qualification, but for me there were a lot of really nice finds. I don't really see a top favourite though.

Last August, a unique copper axe from the 4th to 3rd millennium BC was discovered near Matcze, Poland, near the border with Ukraine, with the help of a metal detector. It is the oldest ever discovered in Poland and quite possibly the oldest copper artefact ever discovered on Polish territory...

This interesting item appeared on the LP in 2013. The finder thought it was some kind of decorated ammunition which we think is definitely not the case.

A discovery that will rewrite the textbooks: Europe's oldest human settlement is 1.4 million years old

The international team led by Roman Garba from the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the CAS and the Institute of Archaeologyof the CAS discovered the oldest known human settlement in Europe near Korolev in western Ukraine. Until now, the oldest finds were thought to be in Atapuerca, Spain, which is 200 to 300 thousand years younger. Moreover, it is the northernmost occurrence of upright humans in the world. The study also confirms for the first time that humans came to Europe from the east or southeast.
