We would like to invite you all to this year's cycle of lectures at the Jílové Museum "Museum Academy". This year will be more historical, more archaeology will be again next year.

Highway to prehistory

This year, the Prácheň Museum in Písek opens in January. In the Small Exhibition Halls you can visit the exhibition Highway to Prehistory from Saturday 14 January to Sunday 5 February from 9 am to 3.30 pm (including Mondays).

Žatec treasure

From 12 January 2023, the K. A. Polánek in Žatec, a new permanent exhibition will be opened, which will present the Žatec treasure from the beginning of the 11th century for the first time in its entirety. In its time, it represented fabulous wealth for its owner, and to this day it is the heaviest and richest depot in terms of the range of objects deposited before 1050 in Bohemia.

Archaeology from the sky

The exhibition Archaeology from the Sky in the Anthropos Pavilion of the Moravian Museum will take you to unearthly heights from which you can see what is normally invisible: traces of the life of our ancestors long hidden underground or in the relief of the terrain.

Late medieval militaria from the Benešov region
