There are currently four basic principles of metal detector function. The different principles have a number of advantages and disadvantages between them. Manticore has probably the most extensive audio customisation options we've ever seen. The possibilities are literally endless and so this article will be a bit longer. Still, if you've got the best detector on the market, it's nice to take proper advantage of it in every way.

Fisher The F22 is currently sold in two versions. The basic one with a "droplet" concentric coil and an improved version that uses the 2D probe you know from the F75. The only difference is the range, which is higher with the 2D probe, so there is a slight increase in resistance in heavily mineralized soils, which is again related to the 2D coil.
