Friedrich Hecker odešel do USA, kde založil v r. 1848 první německý turnerský spolek v Cincinnati, z jeho
iniciativy byla téhož roku založena i turnerská obec v New Yorku. V r. 1866 existovalo v USA již 231
turnerských spolků.
