The exhibition Faces of the Ancient Kouřim Region will take you back to the early Middle Ages, when the power, wealth, strength and prestige of the Kouřim rulers could be compared to anyone - even the Prague Premyslids. Discover the beginnings of the importance of the region and what followed the fall of Old Kouřim. The title of the exhibition refers to the main exhibit, the so-called Kouřim Idol, the oldest medieval sculpture discovered in Bohemia. Its ten mysterious faces will also look back at you across the abyss of ages as mute witnesses of the glorious epoch of ancient Kouřimsko.
