Badge for airborne paratroopers
(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen der Luftwaffe)
The Luftwaffe paratroopers' badge was founded on 5 November 1936 by Hermann Göring. It was awarded to members of airborne units and parainsurgents after successfully completing paratrooper training and receiving a paratrooper certificate. Eligibility to wear the badge was reviewed after 12 months - the wearer had to provide evidence of a minimum of 6 parachute jumps within the last 12 months.
