The mighty House of Rosenberg died out after the sword in November 1611, i.e. after the death of Peter Voke. His embalmed body was displayed in the castle cellar, after which the coffin was closed. Thefuneral took place in January.

The House of Rosenberg was founded in the 12th century. Their wealth was created after the Vítkov line of the Krumlov family died out in 1302 by Lord Vítek II of Krumlov. Although the Rožmberks were their closest blood relatives, according to the rules of the time, the property of the Krumlov branch of the family was to go to the king as an inheritance.

"However, through various pressures, which we cannot decipher today, the Rožmberks achieved the fact that they inherited the Krumlov estate in the person of Henry of Rožmberk, the father of our Oldřich. It is only from those times that the Rožmberk dominion, which Henry's descendants continued to expand, can be counted," writes Richard Händl in his book Grey Eminences in Czech History.

Nevertheless, Rožmberk Castle became a meeting place for representatives of all branches of the broader Vítkov family once a year. This shows that the Vítkovs had long held a family affiliation and the resulting political affinity. Which was often not the case with other old families.

The powerful medieval family of the Rosenbergs died out after the sword in 1611, i.e. after the death of Peter Voke. "The last member of his family is one of the most rewarding subjects of the Bohemian Renaissance. He was born 1. October 1539, fourteen days before the death of his father Jost, who was succeeded by Peter's older brother Vilém," writes Marie Michlová in Death and Funerals of the Famous.

Petr Vok died on 6 November 1611 after 4 a.m. at the age of 72, his embalmed body was displayed in the castle cellar for the next nine days, after which the coffin was closed. The dead man was guarded until his funeral, which was scheduled for 30 January of the following year. By then, thorough preparations for the three-day funeral festivities were underway.

"Twenty-four knights carried Vok's body in a cross-decorated tin coffin from Třeboň Castle to the Church of St. Fifty dignitaries followed them through the decorated streets of the town with their coats of arms turned downwards to the sound of mourning music, andMichlová describes the funeral of Petr Vok.

The procession was decorated with banners bearing the emblems of the House of Rosenberg and the Kingdom of Bohemia. The flags commemorated Petr Vok's campaign against the Turks. The sermon in the church was delivered by Matěj Cyrus, a representative of the Unity of Brethren and a friend of Vok, who avoided any uncharitable hymns.
