The second detector of the AT model series is called Gold and is primarily designed for searching for natural gold in all types of environments, including water. The depth of immersion of all electronics is up to 3 meters. The detector is based on the concept of the AT model and uses the same or related technologies.

However, it operates at a higher frequency of 18 KHz and thus has a higher sensitivity to even the most minute targets. Along with the change in operating frequency, the detector has also received a new smaller probe. Adding to the speed of response to the target, the new Gold has better separation properties than the AT.

This will be especially appreciated by natural gold prospectors in areas with large amounts of iron or its oxides.

The detector controls and LCD display are essentially the same as those of the AT International. However, a new feature is the improved target size estimation function below the probe in the detector's audio response.

A definite benefit is the guide rod locks, which Garrett has not used before. The manufacturer has chosen a proven type; the same system is used, for example, by Golden Mask detectors.

Function and operation

The detector is very well equipped, so there is for example a prospector mode, manual tuning of the soil influence, frequency adjustment in 4 ranges, completely new audio, full NOTCH discrimination, separate discrimination of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The operation of the detector is very intuitive and simple, as Garrett fans are used to from the ACE series. The instrument is manufactured in a sleek black color, plus it is very well balanced and is also adorned with zero buoyancy when used underwater. As an accessory, the detector comes with MS headphones designed as standard for Sea Hunter and Infinium for use underwater.
The versatile detector is designed for searching on dry ground, in snow, in mountains, wet places, and even underwater to a maximum depth of 3 meters.
