The first bronze spears appear in our country during the youngest Unetice culture. The points of lances and spears are very difficult to distinguish. Here we can successfully speculate that the armament of the then warrior could have both a spear for throwing and a lance as the main stabbing weapon.

In the vast majority of cases, these are spikes with sleeves, only in exceptional cases is it possible to document these spikes finished with a thorn. The most common shape is a simple leaf shape, but various degree variations are known. The lance also included chained pointed feet, which protected the wooden handle (rattle) from damage.
