When you're looking deep!

There's probably no one here who wouldn't like to find their own, even worthless, depot at least once. After some time of searching, you'll find that it's not so hot with standard size reels and their range. And while the dealer may have told you that your coil, in conjunction with your detector, will work on a meter-deep object, that's usually not even half true.
The average depth of reach of a 10 inch coil on a Coke can is around 5Ocm, and that's even with the better machines.

So if the average treasure hunter wants to look at least a metre deeper, he has to look around a bit. Basically, there are several options, and as it happens, none of them is the cheapest. He can get a ground penetrating radar and if he's lucky, he'll buy a good one. Prices for devices worth considering start at around 5000 euros :)

Or there is the option of getting a pulse detector which generally, in terms of range, promises a lot. But if you want to stay true to classic VLF detectors, you have no choice but to equip your instrument with a very large coil or some specialty like the Treasure hound depth multiplier or Treasure hound eagle eye pro GTI 2500.

And I'd like to talk a bit about the latter here:

In my opinion it's probably the cheapest possible option to get to depths below 1m. If not, correct me:)
Treasure hound has the transmitter and receiver parts divided into two opposite "boxes" which significantly increases the magnetic identification field.
Treasure hound ignores small targets and can search even in heavily infested areas.
Although under certain conditions these coils can be used to search for wheels, in general the Treasure hunter is designed to search for targets larger than a tin can.
The performance is, of course, completely outside the normal range. The manufacturer states a depth of up to 5m which I cannot confirm as I would probably not dig that deep. Incidentally the size of the object at 5m would probably be the size of a T-34.

However, objects around one meter are a real treat for the Treasure Hunter and so you have a chance to find your first barrel even in places that are already well traveled.

As it happens, the sky is not cloudless. When searching under high voltage wires there is often severe interference. Also, the coil is quite sensitive to strong reddening, after all, the coil is designed to search for ore veins.
