An archaeological excavation in the Mleiha area of the United Arab Emirates has yielded a significant discovery: a 9-kilogram container of silver coins dating back to the 3rd century BC. It contained a total of 409 massive silver coins of the tetradrachm type, inspired by the coins minted by Alexander the Great.

An international team of archaeogeneticists from Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Croatia has presented the first large-scale genetic study of medieval Slavic populations in the journal Nature. The analysis of more than 550 genomes revealed that the Slavs originated from a northern route between the southern region of Belarus and central Ukraine - proving for the first time the previous hypotheses of linguists and archaeologists.

At the beginning of September, an extraordinary relic was presented at the Archelological Museum in Gdańsk: a clay urn in the shape of an Iron Age house. It was found during research in front of the planned construction of a Lidl transshipment point. It contains the human remains of at least four individuals. It is one of the rarest Late Iron Age finds in Poland.

During the planned research of the expanded D7 motorway between Knovíz and Slany, about 40 km northwest of Prague, archaeologists discovered 15 graves, including five Latin graves. Among them also. a female grave with a rich collection of jewellery.
