Archaeologists from the Arkeologerna team have discovered a silver Viking treasure in the village of Täby near Stockholm. Excavations in the Viggbyholm area uncovered a large settlement dating from between 500 and 1050 AD, including 34 buildings, a burial site and more than 1 450 artefacts. Silver jewellery and coins were hidden in a ceramic container under the floor of one of the houses.

In April 2022, then 90-year-old former diver John Hinchcliffe made an extraordinary discovery in Dorset, England: a treasure trove of 67 perfectly preserved extras. They belonged to the local Celtic tribe, the Durotrig. At the end of May, the treasure will be auctioned by Noonans Mayfair auction house in London; the expected proceeds are over 600,000 crowns.

In the spring of 2022, a set of three Bronze Age gold objects were recovered using metal detectors in the Long Crichel area of Dorset. The so-called Crichel Hoard has been dated to between 1400 and 1150 BC. It contains a deliberately damaged necklace, a bracelet and an object of unknown use. A collection is now underway to buy it for the Dorset Museum.
