The Second Life of Venus - Exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Venus of Věstonice

The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Venus of Věstonice, the most important archaeological find in our territory. This prehistoric statue, dating back to the time of the mammoth hunters, was found in Dolní Věstonice and became not only a symbol of prehistoric culture, but also an icon of motherhood, femininity, beauty and fertility.

Detector discovery of a 2,000-year-old Dhaka treasure

A set of luxury jewellery and ornaments from the 1st century BC was discovered by two detectorists in Breaze, Romania. It was originally owned by a high-ranking aristocrat. The find demonstrates the superior craftsmanship and cultural wealth of the ancient Dacians. It is the first-ever Dacia discovery from this area. Archaeologists believe they will find a previously unknown settlement nearby.
