Archaeologists have found a rare treasure from the Roman period and the late Iron Age in a cave in the English Peak District. The hoard contained gold and silver coins.

18 June 1910 The Loštice treasure contained silver denarii

During the lowering of the access road to the cottage in Loštice, a treasure was found in 1910. It contained 274 silver denarii. They were stored in a perpendicular container and a linen bag at a depth of about 60 centimetres below the surface.

The gold medallions were sacrificed during the ritual

Seven gold pendants were discovered in southeastern Norway. Archaeologists say it's a rare treasure unprecedented in the last 70 years. The jewellery is believed to have been used during a sacrificial ritual.

16 June 1971 Bronze sword from Koblov

In 1971, a worker discovered a bronze sword while dredging in Koblov, Ostrava. It was found in the site of the old riverbed of the Oder River and dates from around 1100 BC.
