I recently managed to discover 31 images capturing some of the subjects (this is just a small fraction!; mainly various miniatures on ivory and also jars and clocks) that were looted by SS soldiers at Konopiště on 27th and 28th April 1945 and taken to Kufstein in Austria (Tyrol). At that time, at the end of the Second World War, 31 crates were taken from Konopiště (numbers 1-22 and numbers I-X; except for one crate - supposedly number 2, which was saved!). A large number of objects (mostly precious metals, e.g. coins and medals, but also others) were looted from the crates and stolen

Nearly ten thousand Roman coins have been discovered by a metal detectorist in Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire). He found the treasure three years ago, and the media has now reported on it. The money was probably hidden by someone in the third century when the riots broke out.

A rich depot of silver coins was discovered by archaeologists in Kutná Hora fourteen years ago when they were exploring the remains of the Gothic floor in the local church. The vast majority of the treasure consisted of the Prague grosz of Jan Lucemburský.

A unique find has been made by archaeologists in Cambridgeshire. They have found evidence of crucifixion in Roman times. During the excavation, they came across a heel bone with a nail embedded in it.

Brno archaeologists have again made a remarkable discovery. They have uncovered the complete foundations of Mendel's greenhouse, in which this scientist conducted experiments with plant crossbreeding. The greenhouse was destroyed by a storm in the mid-nineteenth century.

Archaeologists in Žatec made an interesting discovery twelve years ago. They discovered the third workshop where silver was processed three years ago. There were objects for melting and processing silver. The discovery is said to prove that the Premyslids counterfeited money.

Shrouded in mystery remains the discovery of the golden Langobard ring 135 years ago. It was discovered by archaeologist and Čáslav native Kliment Čermák in Čáslav. No one can explain how the jewel got into the archaeological layer from the eighth century.
