Jaroslav Kaláb and Miroslav Popelka. These are the names of two amateur searchers who discovered a bronze treasure near Olšan in Prostějov region in 2010. They went on regular walks with metal detectors.

Nine years ago, Bohuslav Veselý found a suitcase in the garden of his house containing items belonging to General František Moravec. The suitcase with uniforms and a sabre was buried on the property by a friend of his family. The general fled from the Nazis to England.

A three thousand year old bronze treasure was discovered six years ago in the Šumperk region by Vlastimil Flášar, a prospector with a metal detector. He stumbled upon the depot when he went for a walk in the forest. He discovered six necklaces and one pin.

Treasure hunters get 500 grand

The couple who found the coin treasure in the forest near Bořitov will receive 500 000 from the South Moravian Region. The reward was approved by the councillors. The region wants to thank the finders for their exemplary behaviour and for handing over the depot to the museum.

9. 7. 2006 One of the greatest iron treasures

Archaeologists have found around a thousand iron objects on the Klášt'ov hill in the Vizovice Hills. They discovered sickles, scythes and sword fragments. The objects lay in a layer about half a metre deep, either individually or together. It is one of the largest iron treasures in Czech history.

He apparently originally went out with a metal detector to look for World War II coins. But he found a different treasure, namely 16th-century artifacts. He discovered several dozen copper ribs and an 18k gold apron.

Beautiful Roman signet ring with Achilles and Penthesilea changes historians' views

At the site of the archaeological site of Tossal de Baltarga in the Catalan Pyrenees, a rivera jeweled seal ring with an engraving of Achilles holding the slain Amazonian queen Penthesilea. According to a recent study published in the European Journal of Archaeology, the ring and other finds are evidence that the highlands were much more important to the Romans than previously thought.

Eleven years ago, Bulgarian archaeologists discovered an unprecedented golden treasure near the village of Dabene. It is located about 120 kilometres from Sofia. The depot contained fifteen thousand small and exquisitely crafted gold objects.
