28.12.2013 Gold figurines from melted coins

Rare artefacts have been released several times by the Swedish archaeological site Västra Vång. The most remarkable are the small gold figurines, of which 29 have been found. They are made of melted coins.

From December 1741 until April 1742, Friedrich II ruled Olomouc. It was at this time that things got under way. Maria Theresia lost Silesia and Olomouc became a border town.

26.12.2010 Celtic tomb with golden jewels

The gold and amber jewellery was contained in a tomb discovered by archaeologists in Germany in December 2010. Inside was also the skeleton of a Celtic princess. The burial chamber was lifted whole by cranes and transported for further research.

25.12.2014 Archival wines in a Nazi bunker

Six years ago, a pair of searchers from Poland found archival wine in a Nazi bunker. They were exploring the cramped maze of Third Reich tunnels near the town of Swinoujscie. It's believed that no one has set foot there in the last 70 years.
