Detectorists discover gold and silver pagan sacrifices; changing experts' views

Dozens of early medieval gold and silver coins and jewellery have been discovered near Hezingen in Twente. They were found with the help of metal detectors by two amateur archaeologists who went searching with permission in the Springendal nature reserve near the German border. They reported their discovery to Portable Antiquities Netherlands (PAN)...

2. 12. 1943 Bronze bracelets from Kychová

About twenty-five bronze bracelets were buried in the Kychová valley. When this happened is still unknown. The treasure was found in 1943. The bracelets date back to the Late Bronze Age.

1.12.2018 3,788 coins discovered in the forest

Exactly 3,788 one- and two-crown coins were discovered by a chance finder in the forest near the small village of Staročernsko in the Pardubice region. The depot was acquired by the Museum of East Bohemia. The coins date from 1946 to 1946, i.e. the period before the currency reform.

November 30, 2012 Jílovský treasure contained 3662 coins

Nine years ago, 3,662 coins were discovered during excavations on a farm near Jílové near Prague. The depot contained Prague grosz and 3 krejcars. Someone probably hid it at the beginning of the seventeenth century.

Detector find of medieval gold coin can be sold for 4 million crowns

An extremely rare coin made of 23-carat gold was discovered with the help of a metal detector in 2019. The coroner later declared it a treasure. Because museums have not shown interest in the coin, it may be sold privately - it will be auctioned by Dix Noonan Webb on March 8. It is expected to fetch around £140,000, or about 4 million crowns...

In the nineteenth century, the ruins of Templštejn Castle near Jamolic near Moravský Krumlov were often visited by tourists. Ten years ago, David Hamza bought this old building. He sent the highest bid to the Forestry of the Czech Republic - 1.2 million.

28.11.2019 Detectorist discovers the skeleton of a soldier

Police had to be called by a 47-year-old prospector with a metal detector while he was walking near Svatý Kříž. He came across skeletal remains. It later turned out that he had discovered the body of an unknown soldier from the Second World War.

Older Iron Age in the heart of Haná

New and often unique finds will be offered by the exhibition entitled The Older Iron Age in the Heart of Haná, which draws on rescue archaeological excavations of the Institute of Archaeological Heritage Care Brno, v.v.i. Prior to the construction of houses in Seloutky near Prostějov, a number of chamber graves from the Older Iron Age, more precisely the so-called Plateau Group of the East-Halstatic culture (7th to 6th century BC), were uncovered.
