Detectorist Peter Heads has discovered a giant Iron Age treasure in a field near Melsonby in North Yorkshire. It contains over 900 different artefacts. Among the most significant are cauldrons, vessels, horse harnesses, a mirror, a spear and dozens of iron hoops. Scientists say it is an "unprecedented" discovery that could lead to a "fundamental rethink" of existing knowledge.

The 2,000-year-old neckcloth was discovered during excavations in Trollhättan, Sweden. It was lying at a depth of two metres at the interface between layers of mud and sand. It consists of a gold core wrapped with gold wire along its entire length - including the ends. This is only the 3rd necklace discovered in Sweden. It ranks among the most important Scandinavian archaeological finds of the last decades.
