Archaeologists have discovered a set of well-preserved glassware and raw blocks from a Roman wreck between the Italian island of Capraia and French Corsica. This is only the second wreck with glassware found. Thousands of glass and other objects from the late 1st or early 2nd century AD lie on the bottom of this ship alone.

Four suspects have been arrested following the shocking theft of the largest Celtic gold hoard of the 20th century. They were to steal 483 Celtic gold coins dating back to 100 BC from the Celtic-Roman Museum in Manching, Bavaria. One of the perpetrators was carrying 18 gold bars in a plastic bag when he was arrested. It has now been confirmed that their composition exactly matches the Celtic coins.
