Detectorists discover a rare treasure trove of gold and silver from the War of the Roses

In early November, a pair of detectorists discovered a medieval hoard of gold and silver coins dating back to the mid-15th century at Cappercleuch in the Scottish Borders. It was presented to the public this Wednesday. It will now be valued and the finders will receive a reward.

A rare two-handed sword and two axes from the late Middle Ages

Members of the detectorist association GRYF - Biskupieckie Stowarzyszenie Detektorystyczne found an exceptionally well-preserved sword from the 14th century. It was discovered during a legal detector survey near the village of Wielka Tymawa. Two axes from the 14th-15th centuries were discovered in the excavation along with the sword.

Detector discovery of an Iron Age bronze ritual spoon

A ritual bronze spoon, over 2,000 years old, has been discovered near the town of Patrick on the west coast of the Isle of Man. It was probably used in divination rituals. Only 27 similar examples are known in the world, this is the first from the Isle of Man. It was given to the finder without payment.
