The unassuming tin cigar box held a real treasure. It was at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. One of the staff here discovered wood from the pyramid of Khufu in Egypt inside the box. Experts say the artefact is of incalculable value.

26. 5. 2021 Gold and coins worth 17 million crowns were hidden in the house

An incredible treasure was discovered by officials in a house in the Swiss town of Morez. The siblings were hiding gold bars and coins worth 17 million crowns. They were living quite modestly themselves.

Dictator's watch sold for 26.5 million

The object, which gives you "chills", was offered by the American auction house Alexander Historical Auctions. It is a gold watch of Adolf Hitler. It sold for 1.1 million dollars (26.5 million crowns). In the past, the auction house has, for example, auctioned the dictator's toilet seat. The auction outraged the Jews.

Extremely valuable gold mask pushes knowledge of China's history

The more than 3,000-year-old gold mask was discovered in a rich nobleman's tomb during an archaeological excavation in Zhengzhou Shang City in central China's Henan Province. It is the first Shang Dynasty gold mask ever discovered and the only full-face mask of its kind.

The first complete Roman writing set has been discovered

A Roman writing set from the late Roman period was found in Istanbul, Turkey. It is the first complete writing set to survive, with a shallow bowl, a miniature amphora-shaped calamus and a bone pen that still bears traces of red ink. It was used exclusively by civil servants and courtiers.
