Stephen Newbury discovered a small rectangular plate made of a copper alloy whilst using a metal detector near the village of Lynsted in Kent. It later transpired that this was an exceptionally rare die dating from the late 6th or early 7th century. It bears a resemblance to the decorative elements of the famous Sutton Hoo helmet. It is the first of its kind to be found in England.

Mr and Mrs Jans were walking towards the Tomášovský výhled viewpoint in the Slovak Paradise when they spotted a bronze object on a country lane that had been left exposed by a storm. Realising it might be a historical artefact, they contacted archaeologists. The archaeologists eventually uncovered 12 bronze objects dating from around 1 400 BC.
