More than 160 rare silver coins were discovered by archaeologists eighteen years ago in Mansfeld in eastern Germany. They were claimed to belong to the family of reformer and Catholic priest Martin Luther.

Eleven years ago, archaeologists discovered the remains of a sixteenth-century town wall in Strakonice. It was made of stone and over ten metres high. It belonged to the walls, but it had to give way to the development of the town.

Roman treasure with 44 jewels and 33 silver spoons

A wonderful discovery was made 42 years ago by prospectors with metal detectors in Norfolk, UK. They discovered a Roman treasure, which included a gold engraving of a dancing Satyr and three dozen silver spoons. Now the beautiful finds are being returned to the "place" where they were found.

4 Aug 2016 Treasure found during pond restoration

36 gold and six silver coins were discovered by archaeologists during the restoration of the castle pond in Frýdlant. The treasure remained in the local castle and chateau. The researchers reported on the treasure when the pond was refilled.

August 3, 1911 The Golden Treasure lay beside the gallows

110 years ago, Petr Petřík, a brickyard employee, discovered a treasure at the historical execution site on Šibeník Hill near Uničov. The depot contained 352 gold coins, mostly ducats. It is one of the most important early modern finds that have been uncovered in Bohemia and Moravia so far.

Rescue archaeological research began near the villages of Lety and Čimelice in Písek

A rescue archaeological excavation has begun near the villages of Lety and Čimelice in Písek during the completion of the D4 motorway, which is being carried out by the South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice together with other entities. It is likely that, in addition to several already known sites, the construction will also affect other sites that are not yet known. This is a unique opportunity for archaeologists to get to know a relatively large part of the local landscape.
