Exhibition "1945 Calling All Czechs!" presents the last phase of the Second World War in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia - a period of desperate German attempts at defence, but also of civil defiance, betrayal and courage. The exhibition will be open to the public at the Army Museum Žižkov from 30 April. Its authors are historians of the VHÚ Praha Tomáš Jakl and Jindřich Marek.

An archaeological discovery from the Ukrainian site of Medzhibozh A fundamentally rewrites the history of technology of early human populations. A team led by Dr. Vadim Stepanchuk and Dr. Oleksandra O. Naumenkova has discovered the earliest known evidence of deliberate tool making from mammoth metal. The discovery pushes the beginning of the use of ivory for tools back hundreds of thousands of years.

The March finals produced 12 finalists who all climbed over 10 votes. I blinked back a tear a bit as several archaeological favourites didn't make it through to the final this time, unfortunately they weren't that well liked and it didn't help that admin gave them a vote 😊.
