Artefacts from the time of Vikingů

Thousands of artefacts have been found by archaeologists in southern Norway in places that used to be covered by ice. A road lined with stone cairns led through the area and was heavily used by local residents and traders from afar. It was not until the 14th century that the decline was caused by a plague epidemic.

26.4. 1917 Hunger demonstration in Prostějov

Critical food shortages caused so-called hunger storms during the First World War, as most of the food went to the front. So people took to the streets to demonstrate. Some of them were shot. In Prostějov on 26 April 1917, 23 locals lost their lives.

Albrecht of Wallenstein's well-chosen tactics won the Imperial Army one of the most important clashes of the Thirty Years' War. Count Mansfeld had to flee, losing four thousand men. The Battle of Dessau took place on April 25, 1626.

24.4. 1961 The warship Vasa was recovered from the sea

To this day she is one of the most beautiful and magnificent warships ever built. But the Swedish Vasa sank shortly after sailing. She was not recovered from the Baltic Sea until 24 April 1961.

23.4. 1945 Liberation of Brno began

A large part of Brno celebrated its liberation just three days after the Red Army arrived in the city. It happened on 23 April 1945, when Marshal Malinovsky himself gave the order for the final attack from Major General Afonin's observation post on the hill above Křepice.

After several attempts at reconciliation, Jiří of Poděbrady declared war on Zielona Góra Unity on 22 April 1467. The siege of towns, castles and fortresses ended in victory for the Czech monarch. However, it was far from a definitive peace in the future.

We arevery sorry to announce that our friend, big fan of searching and longtime business partner František Morovič died yesterday night, probably of a heart attack. He had worked with Lovecpoklad in Slovakia for many years and was one of the people we started with back in the day.

21 Apr 1757 Battle of Liberec

Hundreds of dead were killed on 21 April 1757 at the Battle of Liberec, which was part of the Seven Years' War. The Prussian and Austrian armies clashed. Civilians subsequently died of typhus, which spread through the town.
