The preserved Viking sword was found four years ago by Tuomas Pietilä, an archaeologist, using a metal detector. The artefact dates from around the year 1000. It was in a shallow grave.

Archaeologists have discovered toys in Uherské Hradiště that children played with hundreds of years ago. Specifically, clay and glass marbles, small vessels or a miniature piece of a spindle. In the grounds of the monastery at Velehrad, archaeologists found an intact Romanesque mosaic pavement.
