3/18/2016 Digging pool, found 312 coins

Six years ago, the owner of a plot of land in Kostolné Kračany, Slovakia, dug up a coin hoard while working on a new swimming pool. The ceramic container contained exactly 312 silver coins. Specifically, there were silver thalers, half and quarter dollars and fifteen kreutzers.

Detectorist finds world's unique, 2,000-year-old Roman brooch in the shape of a horse

The so-called Leasingham horse-shaped copper alloy brooch is quite unique in the archaeological record. It was discovered with his metal detector by Mr Jason Price in a field near Leasingham in the summer of 2019. There is no other of its kind. Although it has not been declared a treasure, it has now been acquired for the collection of Lincoln Museum.

17 Mar 2016 They were repairing pipes, found 600 kilos of treasure

The incredible treasure was discovered six years ago by workers in Seville while repairing a water pipe. They found 600 kilograms of coins in 19 amphorae. The plates bore the likenesses of Maximian and Constantine.

16 Mar 2009 Treasure from the 18th century found under the latrine

The container containing 4.5 kilograms of coins was found under a dry toilet by a builder from Šurany in southern Slovakia. The money dates back to the rebellion of Francis II. Rákóczi. Experts eventually counted 1,725 copper coins.

Individual finds of Iron Age coins were declared treasure after 27 years

The 2,000-year-old coins were gradually found by a single detectorist between 1993 and 1995 in the Dursley area of Gloucestershire. Experts have dated them to between 50 BC and AD 10. They are associated with a tribe known as the Dobunni, the coroner, who has now declared the coins treasure, said in a report.
