The ruins of Hartenberg Castle have amazed archaeologists for years. Many interesting artefacts have been found there. For example, toys that children used to play with in the Middle Ages or a pot almost half a metre high.

10.4.2017 Ceramic vessels with bronze objects

Archaeologists uncovered the ceramic vessel buried in the ground five years ago in the Přerov region. It contained three thousand-year-old bronze objects. These included, for example, circular jewellery or a so-called phalera made of bronze sheet with richly wrought decoration.

9 Apr 2018 Ninety-year-old senior finds pot full of coins

A man who found a treasure in his garden in Čeliv, Benešov region, behaved in an exemplary manner. The damaged ceramic vessel and its surroundings contained 583 coins minted between 1350 and 1455. The 90-year-old senior dug up the depot right in front of the onion.

13,000 unique 3,000-year-old artifacts discovered in China

At the 7 km2 archaeological site in Sanxingdui, the excavation of sacrificial pits is underway, in which a joint team of archaeologists from the Institute for theSichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Beijing and Sichuan Universities have uncovered nearly 13,000 amazing objects made of bronze, gold, jade and ivory. Many of the artefacts have no analogue in archaeology and are quite unique.

A collection of found coins sold for 2.3 million

A trio of prospectors with metal detectors were very lucky to discover 142 rare silver coins two years ago. The treasure sold for £81,000, or £2.3 million.

The mystery of the Iron Age frog mass grave

More than 8,000 frog skeletal remains have been discovered by archaeologists near Cambridge in the United Kingdom, lying in a 14-metre-long trench near a roundhouse in an Iron Age settlement. Frog bones are occasionally discovered individually at archaeological sites, but a mass frog "burial" is unprecedented.

8.4.2020 Rare medieval coins found near Brno

Two years ago, a female searcher using a metal detector discovered a treasure near Brno. The hoard, stored in a ceramic container, contained 69 groschen from the reign of Wenceslas IV and 205 mostly Viennese pfennigs. The container was buried in the ground with the bottom up.

7.4.1945 Coggalbeg's treasure

A beautiful gold jewel and two gold wheels were discovered in 1945 by an Irish farmer in a bog. The treasure remained hidden until 2009, when the treasure vault was robbed by thieves. Fortunately, the precious artifacts were recovered.
