The skull of a bison and a Celtic iron pin were discovered by archaeologists in Brno-Líšeň. They are investigating the site where one of the important centres of the Great Moravian Empire was located. The Old Chateau castle is still yielding treasures today.

18 Aug 1923 Přerov Treasure

Half a metre below the floor of the inn in Přerov was a hidden treasure, which was found in 1923. it contained 2400 coins from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. This rare hoard is mentioned, for example, in the book Witnesses of the Times.

17 Aug 2007 Someone stole part of the treasure

Fourteen years ago an unknown thief stole part of the so-called Běhařov treasure from the Klatovy museum. It consisted of 1,099 coins, 330 South German pfennigs from the twelfth century were lost. The museum estimated their value at 480,000 crowns.

16 Aug 2007 Jug with silverware under the church floor

In eastern Slovakia, workers dug up a clay jug full of silver coins. It was under the floor of an unassuming church in the town of Žalobín in eastern Slovakia. The finders immediately handed the treasure over to the local parish priest.

15 Aug 2019 Thousands of German coins under the morgue

During the reconstruction of the former mortuary in Ludgeřovice in the Opava region, workers discovered German coins from the Second World War. They were about six thousand pieces of phoenix, five-phoenix, ten-phoenix and fifty-phoenix coins.
