27. 11. 2015 Celtic treasure found by a 12-year-old boy

A bronze vessel with a human-faced attache was part of a Celtic treasure discovered five years ago by a 12-year-old boy. Matěj Rampas found the precious objects in the forest near Stebno in the Podbořany region.

A short bronze sword from the 16th century BC was accidentally discovered in the Váh riverbed near the town of Hlohovec in southwestern Slovakia at a lowered water level. According to conservationists, it could be an interesting intermediate stage in the development of bronze swords from long daggers in the Middle Bronze Age.

The Liberec Region has decided to motivate treasure finders to hand over rare artefacts. The man who discovered 159 Prague groschen in the forest near Vysoké nad Jizerou was therefore rewarded with CZK 136 920, which is twice as much as the man should have received.
