A treasure trove of over a thousand silver coins from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries was discovered in the Church of St. Andrew in Barczew, Poland. The coins were stored in a glazed ceramic cup; they filled it to the brim. It has now been presented in the Archdiocesan Museum of Warmia.

In the French village of Senon, an extraordinary hoard of more than 40,000 Roman coins was discovered during archaeological research prior to the construction of a house, stored in three ceramic vessels under the floors of the former houses. The find, dating back to the end of the 3rd century AD, is interesting not only in its extent but also in its interpretation. According to archaeologists, it was not a classic hidden treasure, but rather a system of successive storage and collection of money within the household.
