Many of the Gold Rush-era coins were discovered in early 2014 by a couple in California while walking their dog. The treasure was hidden in rusted cans. Experts estimated its value at more than ten million dollars.

Pot

Polish archaeologists were shocked when they discovered a clay pot in a cornfield in December. It was filled to the brim with medieval coins. In total, they counted about 6,500 of them. That could buy a whole village. According to a preliminary hypothesis, the pot with the coins belonged to a Polish nobleman.

Approximately 3,500 thousand Chinese copper coins were discovered by archaeologists in 2012. This was near the tombs located where the city of Huoluochaideng once stood. It was probably the capital of China.

21.12.2014 The largest depot of Anglo-Saxon silver coins

A hoard of treasure found by a metal detectorist in Buckinghamshire on 21 December 2014 has been estimated at £1.3 million by hoarders. He discovered over five thousand silver Anglo-Saxon coins in excellent condition.

Gold coins from the Tudor period

A family from the south of England has made a bombshell find. While pulling weeds in their garden, they discovered gold coins from the Tudor period. The depot has already been registered by the British Museum.
