All Metal

It is the most sensitive and the most basic working mode

The All Metal mode of metal detectors is the most sensitive and basic mode, which allows the detector to detect all types of metals without any difference in their composition or conductivity. This includes both ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as gold, silver, copper, aluminium or iron. Unlike discrimination modes that filter out certain types of metals or cancel signals from unwanted objects (such as nails or other trash), in All Metal mode every metallic object is detected.

The main use of the All Metal mode:

  1. Maximum Detection Depth: This mode typically allows the detector to reach the maximum possible depth for detecting metal objects, which is crucial when searching for deeply buried treasures or artifacts.

  2. Sensitivity.

  3. Use in heavy soil conditions: This mode is often used in harsh conditions, such as mineral rich soils, as it provides more information about all metal objects in the ground. However, in these conditions, detection can be affected by interference, and proper settings such as Noise Cancel are needed.

  4. Prospecting and Mining: Due to its ability to detect even small metal particles, this mode is often used in gold prospecting or mining activities.

  5. Archaeological excavations: Archaeologists use All Metal mode when investigating areas with historical finds because it does not miss any signal, which is advantageous when searching for antiquities and metal artifacts from different eras.

The only drawback is that without discrimination, the detector will also emit signals when less valuable objects such as nails, screws or other scrap metal are found, which can cause more unnecessary digging. Advanced detectors that use tonal discrimination are able to combine the All Metal mode with tonal discrimination to create a very effective mode for a large number of environments.
