Disk Volume

The Disk Volume feature of the C.Scope CS6MXi metal detector allows the user to adjust the volume of the mid tones that correspond to the detection of non-ferrous waste such as aluminum foil or other unwanted objects. This feature is key to effectively filtering out unwanted signals and improving the overall search experience.

Working principle of Disk Volume:

• Adjusting the volume of the midtones: the C.Scope CS6MXi detector uses three-tone audio discrimination:

  • Low Tone for Iron Objects.
  • Medium tone for non-ferrous waste.
  • High tone for high-value non-ferrous targets such as coins or jewelry.

  Use the Disk Volume control to adjust the volume of the mid tone, allowing you to better discriminate between unwanted waste and valuable finds.

Practical use of Disk Volume:

1. Searching in areas with high levels of waste: In locations where there is a lot of modern waste, such as parks or beaches, you can lower the volume of the mid-tone with Disk Volume. This will minimize distracting signals and better focus on high-value targets.

2. Customize to your preferences: the Disk Volume setting can be adjusted to suit your needs and search conditions. For example, in most locations you can have Disk Volume set to maximum, while in locations with a lot ofm film and other modern waste, you can lower the level for greater peace of mind when searching.

Recommended settings:

• Disk Volume: In most locations, we recommend setting Disk Volume to the maximum (a value of 10). In areas with a high incidence of modern waste, you can lower the level as needed.

• Discrimination: set the Discrimination control to a value of 5 or 6 to effectively discriminate between waste and high value targets.

Proper use of Disk Volume increases detection efficiency and allows for better target identification in a variety of conditions.
