During archaeological excavations of the ancient baths of San Casciano dei Bagni near Siena, a set of twenty-four bronze statues was discovered. They all date from the period between the 2nd century BC and the 1st century AD. It is the largest set of bronze sculptures ever found in ancient Italy.

One of the two known gold coins of the quattrino type of Emperor Maxentius from around 308 AD, which depicts the rebuilding of the Temple of Venus in Rome, sold at auction for a huge sum on 2 November. 2 100 years old gold coins in beef bone

The Lynn Museum's new exhibit is an intriguing reminder of a 19-year-old discovery. Specifically, a trove of golden staters from the 1st century BC that were embedded in a hollowed-out bovine femur. Archaeological Society saves 1,700 items from sale in Anglo-Saxon collection

The collection of more than 1,700 Anglo-Saxon artefacts dating from the 6th to 7th centuries AD was acquired by the Kent Archaeological Society just before it managed to be sold at public auction last Friday. The Ozengell collection includes many beautiful pieces of jewellery, clasps, weapon fittings, glass, beads and pottery. All the items were found in an Anglo-Saxon burial ground near Ramsgate in Kent.

A rare lead pendant in the shape of Thor's hammer has been discovered by archaeologists in Ysby in the southwestern Swedish province of Halland.
