Crichel Treasure: Detectorists discover 3,000-year-old rare gold jewellery

In the spring of 2022, a set of three Bronze Age gold objects were recovered using metal detectors in the Long Crichel area of Dorset. The so-called Crichel Hoard has been dated to between 1400 and 1150 BC. It contains a deliberately damaged necklace, a bracelet and an object of unknown use. A collection is now underway to buy it for the Dorset Museum.

In the English county of Staffordshire, a pair of detectorists came across extremely rare gold objects from the 6th to 7th century. A magnificent gold ring set with garnets and a unique ornament made of gold and garnets in the shape of a raven's head. Detector discovery of a 2,000-year-old Dhaka treasure
