Greetings in the community. As some of you may know, or have noticed, in addition to searching for history, I am a freelance artist, doing experimental archaeology and the occasional presentation to the public. Specifically, the period of the so-called Marcomannic Wars and the Unetian culture of the earlier Bronze Age.

20 years since the research of the settlement with triple fortifications - Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou

On the following Saturday, i.e. on 13 September, a historical event with a more intimate atmosphere will take place near the village of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou to mark the 20th anniversary of the research of the unique site of the settlement of the Unetic culture with triple fortifications.

Markomania Festival

The year has come and gone and another year of our flagship historical event focused on the ancient Germanic people is on the horizon. Do not hesitate and come on May 3 to Pičhora near Dobřichov, where one of the most important Germanic burial sites in our territory was located.

Colleagues, colleagues, hello again after some time together and I would like to present a small report from my other leisure activities. It's not directly about our joint "hurling" of sticks in the field, but still I think it's related, at least for those who are serious about history.

The Marcomannic Wars

I would like to share a short article about the period of the so-called. Marcomannic Wars, which I recently wrote for the fcb page of our group Wulfaswaiut dealing with the life of "our" Germans, especially in the 2nd century. The Marcomannic wars also affect our territory and our history to a great extent.

Markomania 2024 - Dobrichov, Pičhora

Some time ago there was an invitation to the historical event Markomania, which took place on 18 May 2024 for the third time in the locality of the important Germanic burial site from the Roman period Dobřichov - Pičhora. The event focused on the history of our Germanic ancestors and was supported by the Central Bohemia Region and the Institute of Archaeological and Monument Conservation of Central Bohemia.

Living history of Jenštejn

In the middle of last month, the first (and certainly not the last) year of the Living History of Jenštejn event took place. I was honored to be invited to give a presentation on the Unethian culture and a colleague from our germo association, Wulfaswaiut, gave a demonstration of Germanic weaponry in the 2nd and 4th centuries AD. Otherwise, there was definitely something to see...
