17. 2. 2019 Treasure in Meder's house

The coins together with the sacrifice of a cock were discovered three years ago under the floor of Meder's house in Žatec by archaeologist Vojtěch Peksa. The owner probably deposited the treasure sometime in the middle of the seventeenth century. The sacrifice was probably meant to protect the house in question.

16. 2. 2010 Rare silver medal

A unique discovery was made by archaeologists in Opava. Twelve years ago, they found a rare silver medal from the sixteenth century in the cellar of a house in Mezi Trhy Street. It is exceptional in its artistic quality and history.

15. 2. 2016 Treasure of Roman coins in the Hradec Králové region

Silver coins minted during the reign of the emperors Julius Caesar and Augustus were discovered by archaeologists in the Hradec Králové region. They were placed in the ground in a textile or leather bag. A total of 103 coins were probably hidden by an inhabitant of a Germanic settlement.

Vojtěch Václavík discovered a rare bronze sword on a forest path near the village of Újezd. He preserved it in an exemplary manner and handed it over. He was originally supposed to receive a reward of two thousand crowns, but the regional authority increased it to ten thousand crowns.

Extremely rare Roman dagger

A rare Roman dagger was discovered by a young amateur archaeologist in Switzerland. Specifically, at the site of what was once a battlefield. Future dentist Lucas Schmid found a weapon called a pugio. It's a dagger that Roman soldiers carried in their kit.

13 Feb 2008 Weapons and ammunition discovered during road construction

Weapons and several hundred pieces of ammunition were discovered by archaeologists during the construction of the S1 road link in the Opava region. Among the finds were machine gun magazines, an engineer's charge, several artillery anti-tank rounds, as well as five Panzerfausts of 60 millimetre calibre.

12 February 1882 Celtic treasure from Lahost

The so-called Lahošt' treasure is one of the rarest finds from the nineteenth century. In 1882 it was discovered by diggers one kilometre from Duchcov. Up to 4,000 jewels are said to have been found in the bronze cauldron, 1,600 are confirmed.

11 Feb 2014 Medieval tools, a revolver and the remains of a bridge

Seven years ago, divers explored the bottom of the Vltava River near the Charles Bridge. In addition to mobile phones, cameras and glasses, they found medieval tools and the remains of what is probably the oldest stone bridge. Among the finds was even a revolver.

Four years ago, archaeologists began researching the site where the B-17G bomber crashed. It happened on March 24, 1945 near Rychnov nad Kněžnou. It was heading for Berlin with 26 other planes.

He discovered a Roman ring with a detector he got from Santa Claus

Mike Burke (54) discovered a 2000-year-old Roman ring in the front garden of his house in Cornwall. He managed to find it with a metal detector he got for Christmas from his wife. The jewel depicts Ceres - the Roman goddess of crops and grain.
