The coins together with the sacrifice of a cock were discovered three years ago under the floor of Meder's house in Žatec by archaeologist Vojtěch Peksa. The owner probably deposited the treasure sometime in the middle of the seventeenth century. The sacrifice was probably meant to protect the house in question.

Vojtěch Václavík discovered a rare bronze sword on a forest path near the village of Újezd. He preserved it in an exemplary manner and handed it over. He was originally supposed to receive a reward of two thousand crowns, but the regional authority increased it to ten thousand crowns.

The so-called Lahošt' treasure is one of the rarest finds from the nineteenth century. In 1882 it was discovered by diggers one kilometre from Duchcov. Up to 4,000 jewels are said to have been found in the bronze cauldron, 1,600 are confirmed.

Four years ago, archaeologists began researching the site where the B-17G bomber crashed. It happened on March 24, 1945 near Rychnov nad Kněžnou. It was heading for Berlin with 26 other planes.
