A preserved sickle from the Bronze Age was discovered two years ago by a mushroom picker in the forest near Hesov. It was a stranger who reported the find. He went mushroom picking while on holiday in Přibyslav.

Exactly 3,788 one- and two-crown coins were discovered by a chance finder in the forest near the small village of Staročernsko in the Pardubice region. The depot was acquired by the Museum of East Bohemia. The coins date from 1946 to 1946, i.e. the period before the currency reform.

Medieval ring declared a treasure

In October last year, a prospector with a metal detector discovered a silver ring in the Cotswolds. Experts subsequently discovered that the jewel dates from between 1100 and 1200. It was recently declared a treasure.

The Liberec Region has decided to motivate treasure finders to hand over rare artefacts. The man who discovered 159 Prague groschen in the forest near Vysoké nad Jizerou was therefore rewarded with CZK 136 920, which is twice as much as the man should have received.
