2. 11. 2014 Bronze Roman Rooster

Three years after it was found during excavations in an ancient cemetery, a rare bronze Roman rooster has been given a permanent home. It was taken over by Cirencester Museum in autumn 2014. The figurine dates from the second century.

Eight years ago, extensive research was carried out in the centre of Rýmařov in connection with the total reconstruction of Peace Square and Radniční Street. The archaeologists discovered the foundations of a house from the thirteenth century, but also a number of artefacts such as an axe-mlat or earrings.

Originally looking for stones for his garden, he eventually discovered a bronze treasure near Nová Role in the Karlovy Vary region. Specifically, it was objects from the Early Bronze Age such as bracelets, armlets or a ring. Five years ago, the Karlovy Vary Museum announced that it would exhibit the bronze treasure.

At least thirteen people were buried in a mass grave in Dobronín in the Jihlava region. This news was reported by the media eleven years ago. According to testimonies, the German inhabitants destined for removal were supposed to be buried in the grave.

In the Middle Ages, water flowed through Brno through pipes. Thirteen years ago, archaeologists discovered this during research at Dominican Square. Another part of the water pipeline was discovered on Svoboda Square.

The preserved city walls were discovered eight years ago by conservationists in Opava. This happened a month after an aerial bomb from the Second World War was found in the same place. The walls were approximately 800 years old.

26 Oct 2012 Remains of a church in the Morava River

Nine years ago the Morava River gave up its secret. Water managers drained it for the necessary repair of the Spytihněv dam and discovered the remains of an eleventh-century church at the bottom. The Gothic blocks were then gradually pulled out of the mud by archaeologists.

Four years ago, Hurricane Herwart swept through the Czech Republic, leaving a lot of damage in its wake. The church in Staré Křečany in the Děčín region was destroyed. It contained a treasure trove of old documents and coins.

22 Oct 2015 Amber beads and prehistoric jewellery

The beautiful treasure was published six years ago by the country in Stíčany near Hrochovo Týnec. Prehistoric jewellery and amber beads were worth about a quarter of a million. The finder received a reward of ten percent.

21 Oct 2013 Math teacher finds gold and bronze treasure

Axes, bronze bracelets and gold hair ornaments were found eight years ago by a mathematics teacher from Ústí nad Labem when he went for a walk with his dog. He was intrigued by a path that had been ploughed by wild boars. He was the first to discover the bronze axes.
