A significant discovery concerning Charles IV was made eleven years ago at Prague Castle. Two archaeologists found the tomb where the monarch was originally buried. The remains were later moved by Rudolf II.

The real treasure was discovered fourteen years ago by divers off the coast of Florida. They recovered several thousand pearls from the water. They're valued at around one million dollars.

Seven years ago archaeologists started researching in the centre of Chrudim. They discovered evidence of the existence of a medieval castle, which was built during the reign of Přemysl Otakar II, but also sixteen skeletons.

Dozens of silver coins from the fifteenth century were discovered ten years ago by the collaborators of the Nýře Museum of the Royal Forest in the school garden in Strážov. There is even a legend about the treasure.

An interesting find was made eight years ago by archaeologists from Pardubice. During their research in nearby Třebosice, they discovered a 6,000-year-old figure of a goat. A small village with less than three hundred inhabitants then put this animal in its emblem.

The ossuary is one of Brno's biggest tourist attractions. Seven years ago, a key exhibition dedicated to artefacts on the theme of burial in history was finally completed. The coffins that researchers found there three years earlier have returned to the underground.

The massive gold necklace was found ten years ago by David Spohr using a metal detector. The jewel, estimated by experts to be worth £20,000, was discovered in a field in Dorset where cows normally graze.

19 May 2014 Unique burial site from the Middle Ages

Seven years ago, archaeologists discovered a unique burial site from the Middle Ages near the Teplá Monastery in the Karlovy Vary region. In total, they uncovered two dozen graves. The dead were stacked on top of each other in what is known as the etage method of burial.

Glass beads made by Roman craftsmen in the 1st and 4th centuries were found in Nagaoka, Japan, in 2012. They were found in an ancient tomb. According to experts, this clearly shows how much influence the Roman Empire had.
