Atlas of Old Trails and Paths in the Czech Republic

Where did the old trade and land routes run, along which people travelled hundreds and even thousands of years before today’s roads were built? We have recently added Radan Květ’s Atlas of Old Trails and Routes in the Czech Republic to the LP range – an exceptionally interesting publication featuring around 150 maps, reconstructions of dozens of long-distance and regional routes, and a large map of the historical network of routes across our country.

When Manticore Reached 38, or A Hungarian Story on LP

It began with a single clear signal at Manticore and the discovery of a gold-plated fitting. Within a few hours, however, it became clear that this was not an isolated find. The discoveries gradually spread across an area more than a hundred metres long, and after two years of searching, mapping and waiting, they eventually led the discoverers to an extraordinary archaeological excavation. The story you’ll read in this article comes from a friend of ours in Hungary, and I think it’s really worth a read!

They have now been put on public display.

Manticore’s new full-text search ;-)

We’ve launched a new full-text search engine called Manticore on Lovci Pokladů, which searches virtually the entire website. Give it a go and let us know if it fails to find something, if the results don’t make sense, or if there’s anything else about it that annoys you.
