During a rescue archaeological excavation in the historic centre of Kolomna, Russia, archaeologists came across an exceptionally well-preserved hoard of coins dating from the first half of the 15th century. Over 2,600 silver coins were hidden inside a ceramic jug. According to experts, this is the largest complete collection of Russian coins from this period.

A homeowner in Rebild, Denmark, was digging up the ground in preparation for building a terrace when he stumbled upon a huge treasure from the Viking Age. Silver coins, brooches, bracelets, chains, ingots and chopped-up silver weighing 18.5 kg. In terms of scale, it surpassed all previously known Viking silver hoards in the country.
